In both cases, OECD membership follows accession processes lasting several years, during which Lithuania and Colombia implemented numerous OECD instruments and standards. On this basis, the OECD Council decided in May 2018 to authorise the Secretary-General to sign accession agreements. Accession becomes final when the instruments of ratification are deposited with the French Government.
